The client required a scalable and customizable platform that supports the day-to-day operations of childcare centers.
The incompatibility between the two database architectures made transferring a sizable database from a dated system to a new one challenging. It called for meticulous data mapping and transformation to ensure accuracy. The integration of Mailchimp for handling communications, such as emails to parents and advertising campaigns added another layer of complexity to the project. Necessitating careful coordination and attention to detail throughout the project.
Approach
The goal was to develop a comprehensive management system for Sawansoft's network of play schools in the US, UK, and Canada.
In order to facilitate day-to-day operations for childcare centers, such as administrative duties, student management, and parent communications, the project set out to develop a scalable and adaptable platform. I created various database migration scripts to ensure a smooth transfer of data from the old system to the new one. A flexible registration process that allowed for tenant-specific customizations and the creation of individual databases for each tenant was another requirement that we worked on.
Result
We successfully developed a robust management system that effectively streamlined day-to-day operations for childcare facilities across multiple regions.
I succeeded in making sure that the data moved from the old system to the new one seamlessly. I also set up Mailchimp to manage parent emails and conduct marketing campaigns. The solution improved operational efficiency and supported the expansion and maintenance of playschools by providing a highly customized application for each tenant and a separate database setup for tenant registration.
